The Government on Indonesia will do expansion rail way in Sumatera island. To support the expansion, government will do some activities and compiles plan either short term, and also long-range.
Target which wish to be reached is improvement number of rolling stock, rehabilitation the Infrastructur of rail way, improvement the role of private sector in development of rail way.
Expansion rail way in Sumatera island is more majored to increase transportation of goods, especially transportation mineral resource commodity like coal. Sumatera have a lot of coal and it can increase national income. One of the program is to improve the quality of train line by doing replacement of rail from type R33 to rail type R54.
